I love listening to unique songs with splashes of modern esthetic. I love, even more, music that reminds me of MECCA and Space Anime, like CowBoy Bebop, Gundam Wing, Trigun. . . Ghost in The Shell. Killer Bee brings this to the table along with head-nodding beats that can only signal the coming of the BEBOP itself – anchored in Earth’s Orbit.
About Killer Bee
Based out of the New York/New Jersey area, he’s a 23-year-old hip-hop producer.
Let’s get the obvious out of the way: His tastes are #Godly. He has a passion for Japanese culture and a lot of his music (Specifically his album affectionally called “Otaku”) has a “Lo-Fi Hip-Hop” feel to it. Which, I didn’t know it until now that is; it is my kind of music.
This article on Killer Bee couldn’t have explained Lo-fi Hop any better:
Lo-fi hip hop is a truly intriguing genre of music – juxtaposing all things ‘nerd’, including anime, 80’s computer games, VHS, and old TV shows with hip hop, which is a decidedly ‘cool’ music genre to create a dreamy and nostalgic representation of a 90’s childhood.
His song Fantasy went semi-viral on SoundCloud, but it is this one that takes the win in my opinion.
What do you guys think? I am wondering when he’s coming to Philly. . .
